What are the measurements of one square? Also, where might I find letter patterns if any? Thank you. :)

Do you block these? I'm wondering how you get your bobble to be so perfect!!

I have been doing the squares from 63 easy crochet Afghan. 30" = about 8" using red heard worst weight yarn with a size G crochet hook.
So I would say that these squares would be about 8".
I would also like to know about how many yards for each square. I am going to be making a lap Blanket for 2 people with blank squares in between the squares with one square having their names on it.
It will be about 32"X32". Thank you and please answer asap. I will be starting this project in Sept. I need them by Nov.
Thank you again for your time and effort.
