Recently, I contacted zoku to try out one of their popsicle molds and quickly fell in love with the product. I got the quick pop maker in red (I chose red because well it is Daniel's favorite color), Kristopher and Kailee became VERY excited. With this quick pop maker it is like an ice cream machine, plus no more long waits for the popsicles. But, please keep in mind you have to freeze the popsicle container 24 hours before using it, like an ice cream machine container. First off, I love the idea, design, and concept behind these popsicle molds. On a hot 90 degree day I can easily take the quick pop maker out of the freezer, blend up some fruits or yogurt then you add some fruit and freeze for 9-12 minutes and the children have a perfectly healthy treat to take to the pool. Popsicles you buy at the store have so many additives, corn syrup, and added food coloring.
You Will Need:
Zoku Quick Pop Maker (links below)
1 Pint Strawberries
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup Cream Cheese
3 tbsp Graham Crackers
1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Cup Water
4 tbsp Honey, divided
1 tsp Butter, melted
Make sure you put this in the freezer for 24 hours prior to using it
Place graham crackers into a ziplock bag
Crush the graham crackers until broken into tiny pieces, Kailee crushed these, she did good, but I had to complete them
Measure out your graham crackers into a small bowl
Add melted butter and mix (be sure the crumbs are tiny like I said I had to break some more up)
Wash and cut strawberry tops off
Then dice or leave your strawberries whole (you could also use raspberries here or blueberries) I have a powerful Vitamix so it blast through whole berries
Add water
Add raw honey
Blend until smooth (my favorite kitchen toy!!)
Clean out your blender, then add cream cheese, raw honey, vanilla and milk
Blend until smooth
Pour the cream cheese mixture into the mold, only pour a little as you are switching between the two
After you add the strawberry mix, add some graham cracker crumbs to the middle then switch back to the cream cheese mix and keep going until full (do not forget to add graham cracker crumbs to the top)
Ready for freezer!
Freeze for 7-10 minutes and then you are ready to take them out, now this is the tricky part it took me a couple minutes to figure this out
I first thought you had to leave the white pieces on, wrong! Take off the white pieces to expose the popsicle stick, then push down on the red knob (that comes in the box I can post a picture) and turn until they are snug, then as you pull twist to loosen the red knob and the popsicles will come right out (yeah this took me literally 20 minutes to figure out!!)
Best popsicles ever!!! Trust me!
Be sure you get your storage case for these, I so needed mine, but it has not come yet from amazon! So instead we used small ziplocks.
