Focaccia

Focaccia is soooo fun to make esp with kids. I love getting my kids involved in cooking. The younger you get them cooking, the more love they have for it and want to do it. I started my son off at 4 years old.. today he LOVES to cook. I did not do the same with my daughter and she is really not into cooking. So, I decided any children we have going forward, their little butts will be cooking. Anytime my nieces or nephews are over, we cook together (bread, pizza, biscuits, whatever).  You Will Need: 4 Cups Bread Flour (King Arthur) 2 tsp Salt 1 tsp Sugar (honey or agava)  1.5 tsp Yeast 1 tbsp Oil (olive or avocado) 1 3/4 Cups Warm Water  Bake at 445 degrees 10-12 minutes

Chili

It is getting colder here in Ohio, so a nice bowl of chili sounds amazing!! I changed my dinner menu from pot roast to chili as it has been snowing on and off and is freezing. I try to make the chili more on the mild to medium ish side so the boys have a slight heat to it but us girls can stand eating it. Tonights chili was amazing! Best I have made so far.
You Will Need:
2 lb Beef
2 Cans Tomato Sauce
1 Can Diced Tomatoes
1 Can Chili Beans
1 Can White Kidney Beans
1 6 oz Can Mushrooms
2 Chili Packets
Chili Powder (to season meat while cooking)
Garlic Powder (to season meat while cooking)
Onion Powder (to season meat while cooking)
Diced Onions (to season meat while cooking)
Salt & Pepper (to season meat while cooking)
You adjust the heat of your chili yourself, myself and my daughter likes a more mild-ish to medium-ish chili whereas my son and husband want hot hot. Be sure you taste as you cook for seasoning (salt and chili packets/spice). After I browned the seasoned beef, I added the rest of the ingredients with 1 can of water and let it simmer for an hour (the key to a GREAT chili is letting it simmer for hours. The longer the better, but I only could wait an hour while the cornbread cooked).
